My Profile: Akio Takahashi

Part One

My name is Akio Takahashi, an international student from Japan at San Francisco State University. After having worked with two small companies as a salesperson in Okayama, Japan for about ten years and felt bored with the jobs, I gave them up for something entirely different, something that would give me self-esteem and enrich my life. Even though my English was pretty bad at that time, ---it still leaves much to be desired ---, I somehow became determined to master English in the hopes that it could change the course of my life. Having learned English at language school at San Diego for nine months and spent about a year in Japan preparing for getting into graduate school, I came to San Francisco in August '95, and am currently enrolled in the MA-TESOL(for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program at SFSU.
